How to Quickly Take Screenshots of Web Pages

Awesome Screenshot is one of my favourite applications. It allows you to quickly and easily take screenshots of web pages. The extension is available for Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari.

The great thing about the extension is that you can take screenshots on the fly as you are browsing the web. You can choose to take a screenshot of the whole page, part of the page or just the visible area.

Once you have cropped and edited an image, you can save it to your computer or save it online to Google Drive or temporarily to Awesome Screenshot.

To see the application in action, please check out the video below :)

I recommend giving Awesome Screenshot a try. It’s a great application. Please leave a comment below if you have any questions about the app.

  1. Love awesome screenshot! Couldn’t get through a day’s work without it.

  2. I use Fireshot (http://getfireshot.com/) – I believe it is more or less the same thing! Superb Ad-On!

  3. I use Fireshot too. Awesome Screenshot looks a little more flexible than the free Fireshot version as you can adjust the screenshot capture area. I can’t wait to try it.

    • Didn’t know Fireshot had a premium version. On the one hand, $34.95 isn’t a lot of money for a product that useful. On the other hand, Awesome Screeshot is 100% free. :)

  4. Hi Kevin:

Thanks for sharing this. I was just wondering, how does this compare to Snagit? It seems to me that Snagit does everything you’ve outlined in your video, plus video capture and other stuff. Would love to know your thoughts.

    • Hi Glenford,

      That looks good.

I use Screen-O-Matic for recording screens from my computer. I’ve been very happy with it. It’s free to use but I upgraded to the $15 a year edition as it has some great features such as zoom.
