I check my Gmail spam folder regularly as occasionally legitimate emails get placed in there. Imagine my surprise when I found an email from the wife of the recently departed Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. It was not just a friendly hello. She has presented me with a fantastic opportunity to help someone in need and make some money in the process.

Vandalised Tory Billboards

Being born the year Thatcher became Prime Minister of Britain, I can’t remember a time the Conservatives (Torys) were popular in Scotland. To this day Thatcher is a dirty word up here, particularly where I live.

Frankie Boyle summed up the hatred for this Woman (and party) up here when he was talking about the issue of her getting a state funeral. He said something along the lines of ‘£3 million pound for a state funeral! Why not just buy everyone a spade in Scotland. We’ll dig a hole so deep we can hand her over to Satan himself!’.

So I thought I’d share some Tory billboards that have been vandalised. The site where I found these pictures stated that they were from Scotland though there’s a chance they were from around the UK.

April Fools Day Sucks

I really have come to hate April 1st over the last few years. Perhaps I was more gullible as a child, perhaps people are just being lazier with their April fools jokes, or perhaps we’ve been here so many times before that we have mentally prepared not to believe anything we read.

I don’t know. All I know is that April Fools day sucks! Within 2 seconds of reading an April Fools article in a newspaper or an online site you realise it’s a piss take, and most of the jokes are so lame it’s embarrassing. Take the Suns article today about Subo having a statue at Parliament – so bad you realised that it was a lie after reading the headline.

So what you are left with is a day where you can’t read the news anywhere as writers and journalists around the world struggle to fool you with an inventive story. 99% of them fail to do this.

AC Transit Bus Fight

My brother Darren asked if I had seen the AC Transit Bus Fight clip tonight. For those who haven’t seen it, here is a summary for you all.

Basically, a Vietnam Veteran named Tom is sitting on a bus talking about going to a funeral and needing to get his shoes shined. An African American guy across from him hears part of this and thinks that the comment was directed at him. I won’t spoil what happens next.

My thoughts? It’s not clear from the clip if Tom did say something racist or if the Michael just picked it up wrong. Though I think Tom did the right thing in the end. He walked away from the problem but when he was attacked he retaliated.
