Flippa Introduces Super Sellers

Flippa is far from being the perfect marketplace for website traders, however there is no doubt that they are the best website marketplace online. Their competitors struggle to acquire the traffic that they do; both with sellers and buyers.

I have criticised Flippa in the past for their expensive upgrade options. One thing I do respect them for is their dedication to improving the Flippa service. They don’t seem content to rest on their laurels. In July they introduced a new classifieds section. Today they announced Super Sellers, a new verification option for sellers with near-perfect feedback and

Super Sellers

The Flippa Super Seller program recognises sellers on Flippa who consistently provide a great experience for buyers.

They build and sell great sites, domains or apps and go the extra mile to provide excellent customer service.

This program is currently in beta with a hand-selected group of top-rated sellers.

Apparently the process of becoming a “Super Seller” takes some time. I decided to email Flippa yesterday to see if I can be considered as a “Super Seller”. I have a 100% feedback rating and over $200,000 in sales there; so I believe I fit the criteria. They replied this morning, advising that:

Unfortunately at this stage, the beta program is full. It was very exclusive, with only 8 people invited to be members.

Assuming everything goes to plan, we will be looking at inviting users of a high calibre like yourself in the next rounds. I will add your name to the waiting list.

With only eight people being accepted so far, Super Sellers does sound like a very exclusive club. On the Super Sellers information page, one of the requirements is a “high volume of transactions”. It is unclear whether this means someone who has had over a certain number of sales throughout their time at Flippa, or if Super Sellers is reserved for people that are always developing new websites and selling them on.

Obviously Flippa cannot guarantee that a Super Seller will not rip you off or mislead you during a sale; however I am positive that do want to lose their premium status. This should encourage them to always offer a great service.

More information about this new status can be seen at https://flippa.com/supersellers.

What’s your initial thoughts on Super Sellers?
