Why is this product still on sale it is lethal and should be banned. All affected should claim for any damage caused to the manufacturer

I did the same thing. 30 seconds, uncooked, and the packet set fire inside the microwave. Lucky I saw the flames or I think it would have set fire to my house.

I complained via email and sent pictures to Butterkist along with photos. I’m sure it was the adhesive on the bag, and I’m quite sure it’s a familiar complaint. Aside from carcinogenical complainants.

In reply to Mike Byrne. I was surprised at the damage it did to mine too. My kitchen smelled of charcoal for weeks afterwards. I think I'll stick to cooking popcorn over a hob from now on!

I’ve just tried to cook Butterkist Microwave popcorn for the very first time and it has destroyed my microwave by melting a large section of the plastice on the microwave door. How could this have happened? I did not leave the cooking unattended and thought the smoke being emitted might be caused by the brown bag containing the popcorn. I was shocked and amazed to find the melted plastic when I opened the door at the end of the cooking time. The popcorn itself seems hardly cooked at all, although I haven’t dared open the bag to find out. Have referred the matter to Butterkist complaints. I want a new microwave!
