In reply to Nolan Foster. You nee to give companies a reason to send you thinks. To do that you need a platform such as a blog and a video. Companies are unlikely to send you anything free of charge if you cannot demonstrate that you can help give their product exposure.

I really liked the article Kevin ! So I want to review airsoft, and camping/outdoor stuff so is there any advise you can give me as to what to say to the companies and if I want to review something on amazon what are my options? Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you

Hi Gloria.

Yeah the vine program seems difficult to get into. I’m now a top 1,000 reviewer in the UK, but it’s not something I’m actively trying to attain.

I generally get approaches about reviewing products because people want covered on my blog, Amazon, YouTube, or all three.

Are you also reviewing the same products on YouTube? You will attract more companies if you have a following on YouTube.

Enjoyed this post, Kevin. I review products on Amazon. Their Vine Program is by invitation only and very hard to get an invitation. I have been reviewing for three years, but I only receive products at a discount price or sometimes free. Amazon no longer allows this, so I am limited to buying products from Amazon only and reviewing. I am a decent, honest reviewer, but, this is getting expensive!
I have a YouTube channel, use Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Do you have any advice for a new reviewer who wants to promote and take reviewing to a higher level. To have a larger review audience?

Hi Gina.

Yes I think it would be explain to sellers when they can expect a review.

Perhaps write a prepared statement that explains that the review may take one or two weeks to publish since you test products thoroughly. I suspect most sellers will be fine with this if you tell them up front.

Hi Kevin,

I have a question. If there is no contract between you and the company and they send you a product for review what is a good time frame to review the product and upload a video to youtube? I am finding that companies are really rushing me to put a video out once they send the product (days later for example) and I find this frustrating because I like to take my time and thoroughly test out a product. Maybe I should start giving companies a time line upfront of when to expect a video. Not sure. Any advice on this would be much appreciated thank you!
