That’s a good point. It could certainly be enhanced by adding information about the people you follow.

On the flip side, if you don’t instantly know the people you are following, perhaps you shouldn’t be following them. Sometimes it’s good to have a clear out as your interests change over time so the tweets from many people you follow become less relevant.

I use lists quite a bit and the screen shot makes it look really simple. The only downside I noticed is although it shows a person’s Twitter handle, there is no profile info. When you are following 100’s or even 1,000’s of people, it can be difficult to remember what each person does and where to put them on a list without their profile info.
