It's interesting reading people's preferences. I have an iPhone (original). It does everything that I need and am quite happy with it, though as with every phone I've used or tried, it leaves some things to be desired. The preferences you list aren't so important to me (each to his own).

For example, my photo preferences are different. I'm an amateur photographer, so I use a full-blown SLR with proper lenses &c. I've not used a phone camera that can satisfy, regardless of how many megapixels it may have. I do use the phone camera for quick, rough stuff that I don't care about.

Yes I think orange have an exclusive on the N82, at least for a few months. I think the other networks will get it later.

Personally, I've moved just about every time my contract has ended because they rarely give you as good a deal for renewing as they did for a new customer. I've never been able to udnerstand the logic of being happy to lose a customer by offering a poorer deal than their new customers.

If you wanna stay with vodafone though, id definately try and get the N95 8gb. My mates have the N95 and its a great phone, the 8gb version is better and looks amazing in black so I hope I dont see someone with it or I'll get phone regret!!!

Ahh sorry I re-read my post and realised I missed a comma. The N95 does have wireless, always had, except it wasn't available last Jan on Vodaphone when I renewed my contract. I've just checked the vodaphone site and there's no sight of the N82. So I guess I'll have to go for the N95 as I don't want to move suppliers.

The N95 is the one which has been out for close to a year and a half. The N95 8gb has only been out a few months and I believe that has wifi.

I was actually with vodafone but my contract was ending and they were not offering me a good deal so I took an 18 month contract with orange. I got the N82 for free, 600 monthly minutes and unlimited texts. You can get the same deal with the N95 8GB by paying £50 up front (then its £30 a month).

I was reluctant to take an 18 month contract but its impossible to get a good deal on a 12 month contract now.

I've currently got the N73 although I'm due for an upgrade in July. I was thinking about the N95 as I love the N73 except there's no wireless. I've not gone in the shops yet to see how the phone looks but have to say the N82 looks quite nice too. I assume it has bluetooth? The GPS and maps sounds handy to have even though I wouldn't need it often. The camera isn't so much of an issue as I rare take photos on my phone, but a nice handy camera is good all the same.

I'll have to see what Vodaphone will offer me when I call them!

I ordered a crystal case for it the other day because im scared the screen will get scratched.

Nokia definately have a lot of cool phones coming out in the next year, as does Sony E. The N96 is kind of like an improved version of the N95 except it is thinner, a stand so you can watch movies and 16gb hard drive (amongst many things).

I have N82 Black :)
I think that in about a year from now, Nokia will make something along the lines of N82, but thinner, and wider (VGA screen?) with the same or better camera and improved battery life. Build quality is such that I do not expect this phone to last longer than a year. Glass is not scratch resistant, and function keys will wear out. So, if they make a new one with metal and glass body, VGA and keep same camera, I am in. Or maybe WinMo7 will bring some interesting devices...
