Hi,
I am planning to build a membership platform for embedded online courses and quizzes. I am trying to pick a membership plugin for my needs and have narrowed down to Membermouse and Restrict content pro. My biggest concern is the reliability of the membership plugins. Memberpress will work fine for me as will iThemes Exchange but there is not much material available as to their customers and the number of sites that use them currently. Not having used any of these plugins in the past, I am leaning towards membermouse as it is used by some large websites currently. Restrict content pro also offers integration with EDD which makes it a very good option. What is your opinion regarding the reliability of the plugins described above? Thank you

Thanks for a great review of these membership plugins. I would just like your opinion on something. I have access (since I’m a member) to the iThemes Exchange plugin (and all of their addon features. I was curious, if you know and have look closely at this plugin, would you say it compares with all of the other ones, such as Restrict Content Pro, MemberPress, and Paid Memberships Pro? I’m just curious if you think the iThemes Exchange plugin would have comparable features to these other ones, or if the iThemes Exchange plugin “isn’t” as robust or is it? Please let me know (in greater detail) how you think iThemes Exchange plugin compares to some of the other more well known membership plugins?

Thanks for pointing out that plugin. I wasn’t aware it was now free and hadn’t personally used it before but will make sure to take a look at it.

A nice list you have here Joe, but can I ask why you did not include WPMU Dev’s Membership plugin which is now free? (https://wordpress.org/plugins/membership/)

I haven’t used it yet (I’m installing it as a type this comment), but seeing as WPMU Dev know their stuff I would have thought the plugin would have been high on your list. :)

Hi, thanks for the resource : ) great list. I wonder if I could ask… I know Kevin blogs regularly on elegantthemes.com, are you able to tell me what membership plugins they use to handle their membership programme? I understand you may not be able to reveal this info so no worries if not ;P
