There's a good collection of website themes to choose from too and no transaction fees are charged on products sold from your store.

An ad-supported free plan is available which comes with 500MB of storage and 2GB of bandwidth per month. Premium plans retail from $9 per month.

SITE123


Site123 is a user-friendly website building service that gives you access to a huge collection of website templates. Its drag and drop page builder is a joy to use.

The company has a simple pricing policy. You can either select a free plan that has 500MB of storage and 1GB of bandwidth or pay $12.80 per month for their premium plan. Uprading gives you 10GB of storage and 5GB of bandwidth and lets you sell products on your website.

Squarespace


Regarded as one of the best website building services online, Squarespace has been around since 2004. It is a modern solution with a beautiful user-interface and a fantastic collection of responsive website templates.

Their premium plans retail from an effective rate of $12 per month if paid annually. All plans come with a free domain name, website statistics and an unlimited amount of bandwidth and storage.

Webflow


Depending on what type of website you are building, Webflow could be the service for you. For general websites, Webflow is a great choice as it has one of the best drag and drop page builders available online. Unfortunately, writing blog posts and in-depth articles in Webflow is a frustrating experience because it all takes place within their editor.

Two websites can be created in Webflow free of charge, however this is only practical for testing purposes as you are not permitted to publish online unless you upgrade to a premium plan. Plans start from an effective price of $12 per month if you pay yearly and come packaged with custom domain support, 25,000 monthly visitors and 50GB of bandwidth from their integrated content delivery network.

Weebly is a popular website building service that has a free plan with 500MB of storage. Their drag and drop page builder let you add a wide variety of elements to pre-made website designs. This includes animations, colours, videos, text and more.

Their entry-level plan retails at an effective rate of $6 per month if paid yearly, but it does not increase storage and still displays ads. All it does is allow you to use a custom domain. You need to upgrade to their professional plan to unlock all website features. This retails at $12 per month if paid yearly or $16 if paid monthly.
WordPress

WordPress.com


The hosted version of the WordPress gives you access to the WordPress platform and a beautiful collection of website templates. Whilst their free plan does display advertisements, it does give a generous allocation of 3GB of storage.

Their entry-level premium plan costs only $4 per month. It comes with a free domain name and removes advertisements. It also doubles your storage allocation and lets you accept payments on your website.

Yola


A stylish website builder that lets you create many different types of websites in minutes using a drag and drop builder.

They offer a free plan, though it restricts you to two websites and two pages. Their premium plans start from just $4.95 per month and allow five websites and up to 1,000 pages. They also include 2GB of storage, use of your own custom domain and website analytics.

Zyro


An affordable solution that can be used to build any type of website. It features a drag and drop builder and a large collection of responsive website templates.

They have an ad-supported free plan that gives you an allocation of 500MB, however their premium plans start from only $1.99 per month.
